A few weeks ago my sister and I took a trip down Memory Lane. We were on our way home from a visit to the cemetery in Falls Church, where many of our relatives have been interred. We decided to drive past one of the places that I had lived for a few years as a teenager, in Vienna. The house was a modest, three bedroom ranch, like most of the other houses on that street.
The last time I had driven down that road, a couple of months earlier, I had seen that the house we had lived in had been torn down, and the new house’s foundation was under construction. I had written a post about that, and posted a photo of that construction. (See related post and link that is earlier in this paragraph.) I was curious to see the completed, new house.
Here is a photo of the new house. A McMansion, for sure. I wonder how long it will be before all of the other houses on that road are replaced with McMansions, as well.
